Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is expected to arrive in Nairobi next week to participate in the Global Goals World Cup (GGWCup), a regional tournament supporting the United Nations 17 Global Goals.
The event, scheduled for March 5, 2017, is organized by the Danish Embassy, Safaricom, Save the Children, UNDP, and Eir-Soccer. As the UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, Coster-Waldau will focus on raising awareness and support for the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly gender equality and climate change mitigation.
The GGWCup will feature 24 teams of women from different backgrounds, promoting the joy of soccer and the importance of taking a stand for a better world. Coster-Waldau will referee the tournament, with the winning team earning a spot in the global final in New York City in September 2017.

Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore emphasized the importance of collective effort in achieving the UN global goals, stating
