Nigerian University Student Dies After Valentine's Day Celebration with Boyfriend

A 24-year-old female student of the University of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, was found dead in her room after spending Valentine's Day with her boyfriend, leaving residents of the Nassarawa Gwong area in shock.

Nanchin Ayuba, the deceased, had gone out with her boyfriend on Sunday and returned to her apartment at night. However, the next day, her dead body was discovered, and the boyfriend was nowhere to be found.

The boyfriend was later traced and arrested by the police after residents made statements, and he is currently in detention.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Emmanuel Abuh, the command is investigating the circumstances surrounding the lady's death. Abuh confirmed that one suspect, said to be the boyfriend of the deceased, has been arrested and is in police custody.

"One suspect said to be a boyfriend of the deceased has been arrested and is currently in police custody," Abuh said.

The deceased's aunt alleged that the boyfriend has a history of violence and could have beaten her to death during the night.
