A headmaster and a teacher at Bryntawe Comprehensive School in Swansea, South Wales, are facing a disciplinary hearing over alleged misconduct. According to a report by the Mirror, the headmaster, Graham Daniels, 51, and the teacher, Bethan Thomas, 37, were allegedly recorded by a pupil engaging in intimate activities behind the closed door of the headmaster's office.

The incident reportedly occurred during school hours, and the recording was made using a camera phone. The footage was later shared online, including on YouTube.

Both Mr. Daniels and Ms. Thomas have resigned from their positions at the school. They now face being struck off the teaching register if found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct.

Evidence and Context

The presenting officer, Louise Price, stated that it was well-known within the school that Mr. Daniels and Ms. Thomas were in a relationship prior to their suspension. She described the behavior as unacceptable and noted that it took place on school property during educational time.

According to Ms. Price, a female pupil had been waiting outside the headmaster's office to be collected by her parents after an after-school French lesson when she heard the alleged incident. The pupil then recorded the sounds using a camera phone, which were later shared with others.

Response and Consequences

The school received a complaint regarding the incident, and the matter was investigated by the school governors and education officials. The Education Workforce Committee is now conducting a disciplinary hearing to determine whether Mr. Daniels and Ms. Thomas engaged in unacceptable professional conduct.

If found guilty, both individuals could be removed from the teaching register, effectively ending their careers as teachers.
