Ruth Akinyi, the former wife of Raphael Tuju, a former Member of Parliament and Foreign Affairs Minister, had an affair with Tuju's bodyguard, leading to their divorce.
According to court records, Tuju filed for divorce after confirming his wife's infidelity. Following the divorce, Ruth Akinyi started anew, settling in South B estate.
An investigation by The Nairobian found that she now runs a small restaurant along Mombasa Road, serving ordinary citizens with simple dishes like chapati, matumbo, fish, liver, beef stew, and rice, all prepared using charcoal jikos.
The restaurant has only one employee, aside from herself, who serves a handful of customers while Akinyi acts as the cashier.
Meanwhile, Raphael Tuju resides in Karen, where he allegedly lives a life of luxury, with the option to remarry if he chooses to do so.
