A court case against Mugo Wa Wairimu, the owner of Prestige Healthcare Clinic, may not proceed due to insufficient evidence. According to reports, there is no sufficient evidence to judge him in a court of law for rape.
Mugo Wa Wairimu's release is expected soon. After his release, he may take legal action against Citizen TV for allegedly damaging his reputation by airing a story that labeled him a rapist. Citizen TV was the first media station to broadcast the story, which quickly gained attention.
On Tuesday, the police inspected Mugo's clinic at Githurai 44 and found no evidence linking him to the alleged crimes. The police urged victims who spoke to Citizen TV to come forward and record statements at the CID Headquarters on Kiambu Road, but so far, none have done so.
The case requires sufficient evidence, including forensic examination results, which the police currently lack. Even the victims who were questioned by the police stated that they were sedated but could not recall being assaulted.
