Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga met with Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto in Nairobi on Friday, according to a source privy to the meeting.
The two leaders discussed ways to harmonize the Okoa Kenya agenda and the Governors' agenda regarding the referendum, the source indicated. Also present at the meeting was Eliud Owalo, Raila Odinga's former aide, who is involved in the push for the referendum.

Ruto reportedly agreed to partner with Raila Odinga to push for the referendum, as some TNA and URP Governors have backed away. They allegedly vowed to teach President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto a lesson for refusing to increase funding to counties peacefully.
Earlier, Jubilee had accused Ruto of considering a partnership with Raila Odinga to be his running mate in 2017 due to his support for the referendum, which goes against the wishes of his coalition.
