A recent Food Security Assessment report paints a dire picture of food scarcity in Nairobi, with an estimated 1.6 million people in other counties facing starvation.
Counties that have been supplying food to the capital were affected by inadequate rainfall between October and December 2014, according to the report.
The report also indicates a likely sharp rise in cereal prices due to low production.
