A senior member of the Somali-based terror group Al Shabaab has made a statement about the 2014 execution of 36 quarry workers in Mandera.
Allegations of Involvement ¶
In the KTN expose 'Terror Crossing', the 19-year-old Al Shabaab member, a Kenyan-born Somali, alleged that the killings were carried out by Al Shabaab recruits from the Kamba and Kikuyu tribes.
The member claimed,
We are over 120 members in Mandera. We are on a stand-by for any mission given by our leader. I didn’t participate in Mandera quarry massacre but the plan was executed by Al Shabaab members from Kikuyu and Kamba tribe.
The same individual also stated that unless Kenyan forces pull out of Somalia, attacks on Kenyans would continue.
