Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has addressed allegations made by Senator Johnstone Muthama regarding the purchase of 120 security vehicles.

According to Dr. Mutua, Senator Muthama's allegations are unfounded, lies, and sheer propaganda, and contrary to Chapter 6 of the Constitution and the Ethics Act, which require leaders to tell the truth.

The Governor explained that all vehicles were budgeted for in the Machakos budget, approved by the Controller of Budget, and purchased through an open tender system. He emphasized that his government has not taken any loans and does not plan to, and that they are implementing a proper financial management system to bring development to the people.

Dr. Mutua suggested that Senator Muthama's allegations may be motivated by his own interests, stating that the Senator had previously proposed using public funds for personal and political gain, which he had rejected.

The Governor called for the Director of Public Prosecutions to investigate Senator Muthama's behavior and comments, potentially leading to charges for misleading the public.

Dr. Mutua reaffirmed his commitment to working with leaders to improve the lives of the people, fight poverty, and provide jobs, and assured citizens that the security program is on track despite criticisms from greedy leaders.
