An 80-year-old man, Samuel Gicheru, was charged with bestiality in a Narok court after being caught with a hen.

Gicheru denied the charges, telling the magistrate that at his age, he is no longer capable of engaging in such activities.

The case came to light when Gicheru's granddaughter returned home from school and found her grandfather had locked himself inside the house with one of their hens. She heard unusual clucking and sought help from a neighbor, who assisted her in entering the house. They allegedly found Gicheru in the act with the hen.

Gicheru was released on a 50,000 Kenyan shilling bond or a 30,000 Kenyan shilling bail. The case was postponed until September 15.
