The Court of Appeal has overturned a one-month jail term imposed on doctors' union leaders and ordered their release. This decision aims to facilitate further negotiations between the parties involved.

A joint negotiating team, led by the Law Society of Kenya and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, has been formed to work towards a lasting solution to the dispute. However, the ruling does not bring an end to the doctors' strike, as the lawyers representing the doctors had sought their unconditional release.
