A house help, Florence Munene, was shot dead by armed robbers in the Komarock area on Wednesday morning after she denied them access to her employer’s house.
Munene had been dropping off her employer’s children at school and was on her way back home when she encountered the gang of robbers.
The robbers cornered Munene and ordered her to take them to her employer’s house, which she did. However, she let out a loud scream just outside the door, prompting her employer, Mr. Bernard Kimangu, to open the door but quickly close it upon seeing the armed robbers.
The robbers then shot Munene in the head, killing her instantly.
According to Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno, the police are still searching for the gang and have not made any arrests yet. "The robbers escaped right after the incident, and we are on high alert to ensure they are found," he said.
The incident highlights the security concerns in the Kayole area, which has experienced a series of crimes in recent months. In April, a five-member gang attempted to steal firearms from Mihango Police Station, resulting in the death of one gang member.
