Rukia Mboya, the daughter of Zeituni Onyango, former US President Obama's aunt, died on Tuesday and was buried on Thursday in Kisumu.
According to the statement, Rukia Mboya succumbed to acute leukemia at Nairobi West Hospital after battling the illness for about one and a half years. Her burial took place at the Sunni Muslim Cemetery at 8 PM.
Rukia Mboya is survived by her 21-year-old daughter, Hadijah Benaziz. Her mother, Zeituni Onyango, also passed away and was buried in Kisumu on May 6, 2014.
