A sports journalist and a cameraman from Citizen TV, including Mike Okinyi, were beaten and arrested in Tanzania during a Gor Mahia match.
According to reports, the incident began when Jaro Soja, a well-known Gor Mahia supporter, was arrested by stadium stewards for standing on seats.
Security officers then took Soja to a secluded area within the stadium and started beating him. When the Kenyan journalists attempted to intervene, they were also targeted. The officers ordered them to delete the images they had captured, and upon their refusal, the journalists were arrested.
The situation was eventually resolved when Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye intervened, leading to the release of the three Kenyans.
