A top Muslim cleric criticized the decision by police to display the bodies of Al Shabaab attackers killed during the Garissa campus siege, calling it a 'stupid PR' exercise that may encourage radicalization among local youths. The cleric noted that Islam emphasizes respect for the dead and prompt burial.

An imam, who wished to remain anonymous, described parading dead bodies for selfies as 'pure madness.'

On Saturday evening, police in Garissa Town displayed the bodies of four suspected terrorists believed to have been involved in the massacre of Garissa University students earlier that week.
