Akothee, a Kenyan singer also known as Madam Boss, was criticized by her followers on Facebook after posting about a trip to the market with her manager, Nelly Oaks.
In the post, Akothee expressed her love for motherhood and shared photos of herself picking out foodstuffs while her manager accompanied her. The post read, "When I’m done with www.akotheesafaris.com the housewife character checks in, forever a mother my other side of life."
Some of her followers questioned why Akothee had her manager with her at the market, while others commented on her choice of clothing, noting that she wore a tight pair of shorts. Earlier, Akothee had posted a message celebrating her one-year anniversary with Nelly Oaks in the music industry, which led to speculation about their relationship.
This incident follows another recent controversy where Akothee faced backlash for a post dismissing women who use the pregnancy emergency pill P2.
Comments from her followers included those from Ruth Wanjiru, who said, "Kwani huyu manager mnakuwanga kila mahali nay eye …soon utatuonyesha mkioga pamoja," and Ann Qui, who stated, "Mpaka kwa soko unaenda bila nguo …" Marie Musa also commented, saying, "Ata hapo kwa soko Nelly Oaks bado ni manager … unatuenjoy sana but it’s okay."
Akothee has been known for generating controversy, having previously described herself as a ‘walking scandal’ in an interview on The Trend.
