Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng FC, a top-tier Chinese club, acquired the services of Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga for over Sh1.2 billion.
In January, the 22-year-old joined the Guiyang-based club, highlighting the financial might of the world’s fastest-growing football league.
Transfer Details ¶
According to sources close to the deal, Zhicheng paid Olunga’s former club, IF Djurgardens, Sh500 million as a transfer fee.
Olunga, formerly with Gor Mahia, will receive a monthly salary of Sh12 million for the duration of his four-year contract.
Half of his monthly salary has reportedly been released to the player under the terms of his contract.
This amount excludes match-winning bonuses, training allowances, and image rights deals, which are negotiated separately.

In China, Olunga will join several football stars, including Brazilians Oscar, Paulinho, and Hulk, Ivorian Gervinho, Cameroonian midfielder Stephane Mbia, and Ghanaian sensation Asamoah Gyan.
