About three years ago, NTV’s Richard Chacha was involved in a tragic road accident along the Nairobi-Narok Highway alongside his fellow journalists at Nation Media Group.
At the time of the accident, the talented reporter was coming from an assignment with his boss, Linus Kaikai, and a team of other journalists. While his fellow journalists sustained minor injuries, Richard was seriously injured and the terrible accident left him crippled, even after seeking specialized medication in India.
According to reports, Richard Chacha's productivity was affected, and his boss, Linus Kaikai, the Managing Editor at NTV, decided to terminate his employment. In a termination letter, Kaikai claimed that the station needed to cut costs and, since Richard was unproductive due to his health condition, the management decided to let him go.
Many employees at NTV were reportedly angered by Kaikai’s decision, but there was little they could do. Richard Chacha is now jobless, despite having a young family to feed.
