The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended Embassava Sacco indefinitely, according to the original account.
NTSA Director General Francis Meja did not disclose the primary reasons behind the suspension of the sacco, which operates in Eastlands routes.
The suspension may lead to a transport crisis for commuters in most parts of Nairobi's Eastlands, given that Embassava is one of the largest sacco operators in the area.
This decision follows an incident on Saturday where the driver of one of the Embassava buses was accused of causing an accident along Jogoo Road, resulting in the deaths of two people.
Other operators on the same route, including City Hoppa, City Shuttle, and Royal, have fewer vehicles combined compared to Embassava.
Sources close to the matter indicate that the management of the Sacco has informed commuters that services will be halted for two weeks.
