Arsenal are set to announce the signing of goalkeeper Petr Cech, according to reports.

Cech, 33, has agreed personal terms with Arsenal after the club agreed on a reported £10.9m fee with Chelsea. The Czech Republic international is due to undergo a medical at the Emirates, and the deal could be made official this weekend.

Background

Cech has spent 11 years at Chelsea, winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, one Champions League, and one Europa League title. He has also kept a club record 220 clean sheets for Chelsea in 485 appearances.

Manchester United, who were also interested in signing Cech, have turned their attention to Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. This comes after Manchester United's current goalkeeper, David de Gea, announced his move to Real Madrid.
