Published on July 22, 2019, a video by Alliance for Africa's Intelligence has sparked hope for a brighter future in Africa, where emerging technologies like AI can improve the lives of its people.

The video showcases three startups working on innovative solutions that could empower millions of people to earn better and make informed choices about their future.

One such startup is Ubenwa, founded by Charles Onu in Nigeria, which has developed a mobile tool to diagnose Asphyxia from a baby's cries, potentially saving millions of lives and creating jobs for those who can operate the app.

Another startup, Farmdrive in Kenya, has collectively raised over $300M in 2018 to build systems that make it easier for small businesses to access loans, providing the lifeblood they need to survive, grow, and employ the continent's growing workforce.

Lastly, CompleteFarmer in Ghana, founded by Desmond, processes up to $4M of farm-produce orders annually, using modern analytics to determine the best locations for high-yielding crops and better match demand and supply for their ever-growing portfolio of farms.

These startups are indicators of a future where Africa can thrive, and the continent may not need to import over $130B of food by 2024.

Can you envision this future for Africa? Please share your thoughts and engage with Alliance4ai.org to connect with other innovators who are shaping the continent's future.
