A recent meeting in Mombasa between key figures, including parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman and Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua, ousted ODM Executive Director Magerer Langat, and Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro, reportedly had a different agenda than initially perceived. According to the statement, the gathering was not focused on ODM politics or CORD coalition politics. Instead, it allegedly aimed to influence Public Accounts Chair Ababu Namwamba and several members of his committee. The goal, as stated, was to assist Governor Mutua in avoiding career-threatening accusations of public funds embezzlement, which have been raised by the Auditor General.
