Students at Chuka University went on strike, burning a university bus and destroying property of unknown value.
According to the Chuka University Gossip Blog, the unrest may have begun on the night of Sunday, 7th, when students hurled stones at the school mess roof after a power outage in the university grounds.
A memo from the school Registrar, Ms. Oliver Mwangala, announced the closure of the institution until further notice. Students were instructed to vacate the premises by 2 pm.
