Kenyans celebrated International Women's Day by recognizing some of the most outstanding women in the country's political arena. These women have built a reputation for courage and power in defending what they believe is right.

In a male-dominated political landscape, many aspiring female politicians face significant challenges. However, 11 women have made a notable impact in local politics.

According to Ghana's OMGVoice, the following women are considered the most vocal in Kenyan politics:

  1. Martha Karua, who has run for presidency and is now seeking to become Kirinyaga Governor.
  2. Charity Kaluki Ngilu, a seasoned politician who has served as an MP and minister.
  3. Wavinya Ndeti, the CCM party leader and former MP for Kathiani constituency, currently vying for the Machakos gubernatorial seat.
  4. Millie Odhiambo, known for being tough and controversial, as well as fearless.
  5. Dr. Agnes Zani, a respected scholar and champion for the rights of the marginalized, nominated to the Senate.
  6. Naisula Lesuuda, who has empowered girls from her Samburu backyard through various projects.
  7. Sabina Wanjiru Chege, an excellent orator and former journalist and radio presenter.
  8. Mishi Mboko, known for calling on Kenyan women to deny men conjugal rights until they register as voters.
  9. Gladys Wanga, who never keeps quiet or sleeps in parliament and made history as the first female student to be elected as Secretary General of a students union.
  10. Dr. Joyce Laboso, the deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, vocal about the unfair treatment of women politicians.
  11. Aisha Jumwa, a fierce critic of the Jubilee government and has been arrested several times.

These women have demonstrated remarkable courage and determination in their pursuit of political careers.
