Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Nkaissery announced that the dawn to dusk curfew in Mpeketoni, Lamu, remains in effect.
The curfew has been lifted on the island, but consultations between the government, the coast security Committee, and regional leaders are ongoing regarding the surrounding areas.
