Leaders from Baringo County have called for the deployment of security reinforcements and asked for President Uhuru Kenyatta's personal intervention to quell the escalating violence that has left several people dead.

The leaders made the appeal days after 5 people, including two politicians and a school teacher, were killed, leaving 25 schools closed, and over 2000 people displaced in renewed clashes in the area.
