An 80-year-old man was killed when President Uhuru Kenyatta's motorcade struck him as he rode a bicycle with his 29-year-old grandson during the President's tour of Kakamega. The grandfather died at the scene, while the grandson was taken to the hospital.

This incident follows a recent event where Deputy President William Ruto's motorcade knocked down two schoolgirls in Murang'a, although they survived with injuries.

According to the statement, irate residents attempted to set fire to the vehicle involved but were stopped by police intervention.
