CORD leader Raila Odinga met with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, and his team during an unplanned visit to Statehouse. Several stories have emerged on social media about the meeting, including interactions between the politicians.
One notable episode was when Deputy President Ruto greeted Raila with ' Niaje boss? ' and Raila replied ' Poa hustler ' as they both laughed.
Another episode involved Raila teasing Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery in front of guests. After exchanging greetings, Raila jokingly told Nkaissery ' Nasikia ulikuwa unataka kunishika, ndo huyu mimi hapa ' ('I hear you wanted to arrest me, and here I am'), causing them to burst into laughter, with Nkaissery left speechless.
Later, President Uhuru invited Raila to attend the Madaraka Day celebrations at Afraha Stadium, but Raila declined, suggesting they meet instead at Uhuru Park.
The visit highlighted the cordial relationship between the leaders, despite their differences, and served as a reminder to Kenyans to put aside their hatred for one another.
