Soita Shitanda, Kenya's former Housing minister, has passed away. According to reports, he died at the Nairobi Hospital, where he had been admitted in critical condition a fortnight prior to his death.

Until his passing, Shitanda served as the chairman of the Agricultural Development Corporation. He had been dealing with health issues for some time.

Musalia Mudavadi, leader of the Amani National Congress, described Shitanda as a brother and confidante. Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga reminisced about serving alongside Shitanda in Parliament, starting in 1997, and later in the Cabinet.

Shitanda's death comes as a significant loss to his family, who recently buried his elder brother and a younger family member just last month.

The recovered account cited reporting by Mediamax.
