On July 22, 2019, billionaire Manu Chandaria wedded his wife of 64 years at the Attorney General's office in a low-key ceremony that cost Sh 3,900.

Co-founder of Bonfire Adventures, Sarah Kabu, has sparked a heated debate on flashy weddings after urging couples to ask for financial help from relatives and friends for their dream weddings.

"I'm here to encourage the young couples not to shy to ask for mchango; those who don't want to changa don't attend people's weddings, they are expensive... even Jesus changed for a wedding by donation of his miracle to turn water into wine... weddings are meant to be a merry-making event, people should not worry about the cost," Sarah posted on her Instagram page.

However, most of her fans did not agree with her sentiments, with some advising young couples to prioritize their financial stability over flashy weddings.
