July 22, 2019 - Joseph Hellon, a former preacher of Esther Arunga, has changed the name of his church from Finger of God to Kingdom Embassy International.

According to Hellon, the change was necessitated by the negative perception of the original name by Kenyans.

Speaking on a radio interview on July 19, Hellon stated that the church had to change its name because of the bad things associated with it.

"We have changed the name because of the people, they have been talking a lot, including calling the church a church of the devil," Hellon said.

He further stated that the name Finger of God was not problematic except that Kenyans had negative thoughts about it.

"The name Finger of God comes from the Ten Commandments, people who do not know the Bible are the ones saying these things. We rejected the name to be like others," Hellon stated.

The church has been in the spotlight after Hellon's colleague Esther Arunga, a prominent journalist, got entangled in a scandal with her lover Quincy Timberlake.
