A large crowd gathered to pay their respects as the late Archbishop Gideon Charles Owalo was escorted to his home in Siaya County.
According to reports, Archbishop Owalo passed away a fortnight ago at the Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu.
As the founder of Nomiya Church, he led one of the pioneering African independent churches, with over 250,000 worshippers across Nyanza, Western, and major towns in Kenya, including Nairobi.
The archbishop's cortege arrived at Nomiya Church headquarters in Oboch, Asembo, Siaya County, where thousands of mourners had assembled. The burial ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 7th March 2015, at Gangu Village, Siger Sub Location, West Asembo Location in Rarieda Constituency, starting at 8:00 am.
