Daniel Owira, also known as Otongolo, scored a mean grade of C+ in the 2015 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examinations.

Owira, the adopted son of President Uhuru Kenyatta, achieved grades that are acceptable for enrollment in Kenyan public universities.

Owira gained fame after reciting a poem called Otongolo at the 2013 Kenya Schools, Colleges and Universities Drama Festivals in Mombasa. The performance impressed President Kenyatta, who later hosted him at State House, Nairobi, and pledged to cover the remainder of his high school fees.

Owira has expressed interest in studying journalism and has appeared in several commercials. His academic achievement may enable him to pursue his desired field of study.
