Isiolo County plans to open a modern abattoir by the end of the year through a partnership with the private sector, according to Governor Godana Doyo.
The county government will offer incentives to attract private partners, aiming to make the facility sustainable and economically viable for exporting meat and other products.
Governor Doyo made the announcement during the launch of the abattoir's assessment report at a hotel in Isiolo, saying,
I want to assure the partners that my government will ensure the facility is up and running by the end of the year to replace Kenya Meat Commission.
