President Uhuru Kenyatta danced with an 8-year-old boy, Marc Smith, during the Kenya Red Cross Society’s 50th anniversary celebration at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.

According to the original account, President Kenyatta joined Marc in singing a Swahili and English song, causing a brief stir among his security detail. At one point, the president appeared to struggle with the song’s dance routine, which included the lyrics head, shoulder knees and toes.

After the performance, President Kenyatta hi-fived Marc and gave him a warm embrace. He later escorted the boy to his official car and took him on a tour of State House, Nairobi.

Marc Smith has previously performed in front of the First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta, at the official opening of the National Assembly Lady Spouses Association of Kenya Directorate of National Cohesion and National Values conference in April 2015.

The young singer has also produced videos of popular songs, including Pharrell Williams’ Happy and Michael Jackson’s Heal the World. Born on August 10, 2006, to a Kenyan mother and an Australian father, Marc is no stranger to performing in front of high-profile audiences.

The recovered account cited reporting by Nairobi News.
