Zambia's President Edgar Lungu has reportedly offered to pay Facebook users Ksh 100 for every positive comment posted on his Facebook page.
According to the original account, President Lungu allegedly became jealous of Hakainde Hichilema's Facebook page and its numerous positive comments. He now aims to surpass Hichilema's popularity on social media.
A Zambian citizen, who wishes to remain anonymous, criticized President Lungu's actions, stating:
This is ridiculous. He is behaving like that man from Chawama. He always complains about Hichilema's Facebook page and comments.
The source of funding for this initiative is unclear, raising concerns that President Lungu may plan to use public funds to support his personal agenda.
Some argue that if President Lungu intends to proceed with this plan, he should use his own funds rather than potentially misusing public resources.
The recovered account cited reporting by Tuko.
