A middle-aged man, Muhoro Thuku, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling his 4-year-old daughter.
According to court testimony, on May 1, 2013, Thuku called the girl into his house at Ngala Estate and defiled her before giving her sweets to eat after she complained of pain.
Thuku's wife reported that she was away working on the farm and upon returning home, found her daughter crying and complaining of pain while urinating. After questioning her further, the daughter disclosed that her father had defiled her and given her sweets to ease the pain.
The victim testified in court, stating that her father used a stick and his finger to abuse her before the assault.
Thuku faced a second count of inappropriately touching the minor's private parts.
Court Ruling ¶
The Magistrate noted that cases of child abuse are increasing and that offenders should receive maximum sentences, ruling that Thuku should serve life in jail.
