Ahead of New Year's Day in 2016, five people lost their lives in a fatal collision between a Nairobi-bound passenger bus and a saloon car en route to Eldoret. According to reports, the accident occurred at approximately 2 AM when the two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of five occupants in the saloon car.
