On July 22, 2019, a dramatic scene unfolded at the National Arena in Romania as Dinamo Bucharest manager Eugen Neagoe collapsed during his team's 2-0 defeat to Craiova University.
According to reports, Neagoe, a 51-year-old Romania-born tactician, suffered a cardiac arrest just 25 minutes into the match, leaving players and fans terrified.
Neagoe was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, where he regained consciousness and inquired about the score.
Although the exact cause of his illness has not been confirmed, it is believed that Neagoe suffered a heart attack during the match.
Following the incident, the match was momentarily stopped for close to 15 minutes before resuming.
Neagoe had taken charge of the team just this summer, replacing Mircea Rednic, but had reportedly endured a turbulent time at the club.
The match ended with a 2-0 victory for Craiova University, with Cristian Barbut and Mihai Roman scoring the goals that left Dinamo Bucharest at the bottom of the league on goal difference.
