A police operation in Wajir resulted in the arrest of seven bandits allegedly involved in a series of attacks. The operation also yielded six AK 47 rifles and 326 bullets.

In a separate incident, three suspected members of the Sabaot Land Defence Force were lynched by residents in Cheptais, Mt. Elgon region, on Friday, 24 February.

These developments follow Deputy President William Ruto's directive to security forces to take drastic measures against perpetrators of insecurity in Baringo County, where incidents have been on the rise.
