A significant restructuring at Standard Group has resulted in nearly 90 journalists being affected. The changes impact both print and broadcast sections of the organization.
The following journalists were let go:

- Joe Kiarie
- Kiundu Waweru
- Peter Orengo
- Gammz cartoonist
- Dann Okoth
In addition to the layoffs, several employees have retired or had their contracts expire, including:

- Dorcas Muga, Deputy Managing Editor of Weekend Editions

- Joshua Kemboi, KTN Sports Editor
- George Mulala, Standard Photo Editor
- Peter Choge, Sub-Editor for Saturday Standard

- Sarah Kinya, TV Producer
