According to information from Ghafla!, James Smart has resigned from his position at KTN. Smart started his television career at NTV before moving to KTN, where he created the show 'The Trend'.
In 2014, Smart took a brief leave from KTN to study International Journalism at Cardiff University in the UK. He returned to the air last year and has now resigned.
Before his resignation, Smart hinted at his decision on Twitter. His posts, along with those of Onsarigo, suggested that there were issues at KTN.
An inside source at KTN told Ghafla! that Smart had disagreements with Helen Wanjiru, the Deputy Managing Editor. The source described Wanjiru as a 'dictator' who has caused many journalists to leave the station due to frustration.
Ghafla! attempted to reach Smart for comment, but his phone was unreachable. His resignation follows recent statements by Mohammed Ali that the media has been overrun by cartels.
