On July 22, 2019, Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) records announced its biggest festival in Tanzania, featuring a lineup of top artists. However, one notable absence was Harmonize, a leading artist under WCB.
Rumors spread on social media that Harmonize was 'left out' of the festival due to a falling out with his boss, Diamond Platnumz. However, Diamond refuted these claims, stating that everything was fine between them.
Speaking to the press, Diamond explained that Harmonize's absence was due to scheduling conflicts. 'We are overly booked,' Diamond said. 'I'm going back on Monday, Tuesday I have a show in Uganda, Saturday I have a show in Mwanza, Sunday I have a show in Burundi. Getting us together is difficult.'
Diamond further emphasized that WCB cannot cancel any artist's booked shows to attend the festival. 'The Festival is for everyone, not just WCB. We were booked months prior, so we will not be there sometimes. We cannot cancel anyone's show unless they themselves cancel it.'
Harmonize's absence from the festival has sparked comparisons between him and Diamond, with some claiming that Harmonize is better than his boss. Tanzanian socialite Wema Sepetu has even gone as far as to say that Harmonize is 'way better' than Diamond when it comes to music.
