David Moyes, the former Manchester United manager, has expressed his disappointment with the current state of the Premier League, calling it the worst season he has seen in recent memory.
In an interview with BT Sport, Moyes stated,
"It’s as poor a Premier League as I’ve seen for… maybe since the start of the Premier League,"
citing a lack of competitiveness in the division compared to previous years.
Moyes, who now manages Real Sociedad in La Liga, acknowledged that while there are good teams and great players, the overall competition is not what it used to be.
Despite his criticism, Moyes indicated that he intends to return to England and the Premier League in the future, although he is currently enjoying his experience in Spain,
I’ve actually come and I’ve seen something else, I’ve seen another league,"
and
Moyes clarified that he is not missing the Premier League at the moment but acknowledged that it is where he has done most of his work and expects to return there in time.
