The Democratic Party, founded by former President Mwai Kibaki, has endorsed a candidate to run against the JAP candidate in Kabete constituency.

In Kabete, residents may pose a challenge to JAP, similar to the situation in Kajiado Central, where a silent opposition to the party's formation has been growing ahead of the 2017 elections.

Mutahi Ngunyi, a political scientist, has cautioned President Uhuru that his campaign's incompetence could lead to turmoil if he loses the 2017 elections.
