Linzie Mumbi Ngarari, once Kenya's top model, passed away on June 28, 2015, at the age of 22, following a short illness. She had moved to the UK to pursue her education and modeling career, where she was crowned the Face of Kenya, UK.

Prior to her death, Ngarari had made specific requests for her burial, which her family honored. She wished to be buried at her home in Embu, with attendees dressed in bright colors, and the ceremony to take place on her birthday.
