Respected mainstream Muslim journalists, including investigations reporter Mohamed Ali, have called for a boycott of the state house iftar ceremony, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The journalists are urging Muslim leaders to boycott the event in solidarity with over 1000 Muslims who are being held in poor conditions at the Kasarani detention center.
The Jubilee Alliance government includes several high-ranking Muslim officials, such as House Majority Leader Adan Duale, as well as multiple cabinet and principal secretaries.
