A 17-year-old Muslim girl from Birmingham, UK, has faced intense backlash and death threats after a video of her twerking on the street while wearing a hijab was posted on social media.

The girl was filmed dancing with a street musician and a friend. Many in the Muslim community considered her actions disrespectful to her religious attire.

Criticism and Threats

Viewers have criticized the girl, with one commenting, "Truly disgusting. Some people don’t understand the meaning of the veil. You can dress in a nun outfit and dance like a we in public. Defeats the whole purpose, doesn’t it?" Others have called her derogatory names and suggested she "needs to be killed."

In a YouTube interview with Ali Dawah, the girl apologized for her actions and explained she had hesitated before joining the dance. She attributed her behavior to mental health issues, stating she "doesn’t think straight" due to these problems.

The recovered account cited reporting by Tuko.
