Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng'eno confirmed that he slapped and punched Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen at the Wilson Airport VIP lounge, claiming self-defense.

According to Ng'eno, the altercation began when he questioned Murkomen about the large amount of cash he was carrying, suggesting it might be part of the proceeds from the National Youth Service (NYS) looting scandal.

Murkomen allegedly became furious and charged at Ng'eno, prompting the MP to defend himself physically.

Ng'eno stated, "I was defending myself."

The incident occurred amidst Deputy President William Ruto's campaign in the region for the Jubilee candidate in the Senate by-election, Aaron Cheruiyot.

Murkomen denied the claims, saying he is not prone to physical fights and has better ways to resolve conflicts.

Ng'eno called for Murkomen and others implicated in the NYS scandal to resign.
