At the fifth edition of the HiPipo Music Awards, held at Kampala Serena Hotel, Kenya’s afro-pop band Sauti Sol won two awards: Song of The Year Kenya and East Africa Super Hit for their song Unconditionally Bae featuring Tanzanian star Ali Kiba.
Ugandan artistes also received notable awards. Sheebah Karungi took home four awards: Artiste of The Year, Best Female Artiste, Best Afro Beat Song, and Video of The Year. Bebe Cool came in third, winning Music Icon of the Decade, Best Male Artiste, and Song of the Year.
